    Joanne is a Chinese Brush Painter with a lifelong love of art. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art shows and is held in private collections around the world.

TOM SULLIVAN

Tom was a shipwright and furniture maker with a natural eye for design and a lifelong love of working with his hands.

Totally Bamboo

Together, their creative paths eventually led to Totally Bamboo. 

While running their furniture business, Hollywood Chairs, Joanne and Tom began experimenting with bamboo as a lighter, strong, renewable alternative to traditional hardwood. Scraps from their bamboo furniture became cutting boards, first given as gifts and later sold at an art show, where they quickly sold out—inspiring the launch of Totally Bamboo.
