True strength lies not in rigidity but in flexibility and calm. Bamboo is one of the Four Gentlemen revered for it's specific virtues which are highlighted in a storm.
Resilience - the stalks of bamboo yields to the pressure of the wind without breaking.
Integrity - bamboo is an evergreen symbolizing endurance and hope during hard times.
Humility - the act of swaying in the wind without breaking, shows a willingness to adapt to circumstances.
